VAYA is a very powerful word.
Spanish for "go," it reminds us that we can take charge of our own actions at any time. I started VAYA (Volunteer Advocacy
- You in Action) with the belief that everyone has something that we're passionate about.
My passions always have been helping people help themselves -- as well as putting together people and groups that can most
benefit one another at many different levels. I have done this quietly and effectively for over 25 years. However,
now it's time to reach out to everybody -- to go out into the world. And you can help! You know that idea you've had to help someone or a group that you
thought about doing "down the road?" Do it now. It doesn't have to start out big -- or take up a lot
of your time. It can begin with you because you are the "spark" -- that hope that
brings an idea alive. VAYA will help you spread the word. Too often we hear the negative in this world. It's time we started spreading the positive --
